Apple Black Friday: a gift card, not a discount
Apple does not cut its prices for Black Friday. Its shopping event, Black Friday to Cyber Monday, gives an Apple Gift Card with the purchase instead: in 2025 that was up to $250 on a MacBook Pro and $75 on an iPhone, from Nov 28, 2025 to Dec 1, 2025, and the newest iPhones were left out. Apple had not announced its 2026 offer on Oct 30, 2026.

Worth it?
Gift card or a real discount.
- The card only spends at Apple. If you would buy AirPods, a case or an app subscription there anyway, it is close to cash. If not, it is worth less than the number on it.
- Retailers cut the price instead. Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart and Target discount older iPhones and other Apple products outright for Black Friday, often by more than Apple's card.
- Carriers beat both on the newest iPhones, as long as you stay on the plan: see Black Friday iPhone deals for what a "free iPhone" really costs, model by model.
- Buying unlocked from Apple? If your model qualified last year, waiting for the event costs nothing and adds a card.
