How to choose
How much storage do you need?
Per gigabyte, bigger storage is always cheaper, but you only save if you would actually fill it. Since 2025 the smallest option on most iPhones is 256 GB; only iPhone 16 still starts at 128 GB.
- 256 GB holds a few years of photos for most people, especially with iCloud Photos optimising what stays on the phone.
- 512 GB makes sense if you shoot a lot of 4K video or keep large offline libraries of music, maps or films.
- 1 TB and 2 TB are for ProRes and Apple Log video on the Pro models, where a minute of footage can take several gigabytes.
