In context
How big is iPhone 16 Pro Max, really?
Of the 34 iPhones on this site, iPhone 16 Pro Max is the 32nd smallest by the size of its front (163 × 77.6 mm), the 28th lightest at 227 g, and has the 4th largest screen at 6.9 inches. That puts it with the large iPhones, which most people use with two hands.
Its 6.9-inch display is about 73.3 × 159.2 mm (worked out from the diagonal and its 2868 × 1320 pixel grid), so the screen covers roughly 92% of the front. The front camera and Face ID sensors sit in the Dynamic Island, a pill-shaped cut-out that also shows live activity. At 460 pixels per inch, individual pixels are not visible at a normal viewing distance.
Against iPhone 15 Pro Max (2023), the model it followed, it is 3.1 mm taller and 6 g heavier, the chip moves from A17 Pro to A18 Pro, and Apple's video playback rating rises from 29 to 33 hours.
